Want - Mui Mui cracked leather loafers - just a little in love...

Mui Mui cracked leather loafers, £420

I'm getting my wish list together for the new season and am in love. It won't last - I'm fickle like that, but for the moment my fashion lust-after was found on The Telegraph site's fashion pages. Mui Mui cracked leather loafers are made from calf leather and have a silver toecap. Beautiful!

Marks and Spencer fashion - out of the doldrums?

Marks and Spencer's fashion collections have left a lot to be desired over the past few seasons. There has been little that I would buy (apart from one plain black shift dress that was bought for me) as everything has been rather dull and shapeless. There is now a new style director Belinda Earl who was responsible for introducing the fabulous Designers at Debenhams range. By the looks of the Autumn/Winter collection she is already making her mark. According to The Daily Telegraph website Belinda says: "We've listened to so much customer feedback and the number one complaint has been quality." So it appears she has addressed that along with all the other complaints about cut, colour and suitability for women who would shop in M&S if they could find anything that didn't make them feel, well, middle-aged. I like what I see and am lucky that I work near the West End as I know I will find things in store. The next battle they need to address is availability in towns up and down the country - so if you can't find what you want you should complain to head office, Belinda is listening.

Russell & Bromley Autumn/Winter 2013 sneak preview

Another week another sneak preview and this time it's Russell & Bromley who brought us a plethora of ponyskin, sparkles, suede, sneakers, tall boots, cropped boots and shiny, shiny loafers. Love it all! Can't wait for Winter (well almost) and am pleased that we will all soon be back in pointy-toed heaven.

Sneak preview time and once again we got to take a look at the Autumn/Winter collection at Jaeger. I love Jaeger, they create classics that are both wearable but are also on trend - just check out the neon's that are currently in store and continue into the winter. Fabrics are always high quality - soft woollens, silks and cottons.

Here you go - enjoy!

What's not to love about this brilliant red dress?

Brilliant and bold acid yellow - perfect for dull days

Monochrome and pales in fabulous fabrics

Hot hot pink - and check out the Twitter bird print too

Gorgeous twist on a traditional skirt suit - or wear as separates

Clarks Autumn/Winter range preview...

Getting a sneak preview of Clarks ranges is always an extra special treat as they always push the boat out to ensure that the event is fun and a bit different. This one, for Clarks Autumn/Winter women's, men's and children's collections was no let down with a Farmer's Market theme. We were even encouraged to help ourselves to fresh artisan loaves, fruit, vegetables and cake! The shoes were great too and here are a few of the styles we can look forward to later in the year.

Eco-friendly fashion from People Tree

I love what the people at People Tree try to do. They are worth a look as they have some perfect styles for the weird 'mid-seasonal' period that will take you through to Easter and beyond. What's so special about People Tree?
Their products are eco compatible with the planet and they work hard to create livelihoods and sustain incomes for an impressive 4000 artisans and farmers from around the world. They work to minimize environmental impact and use organic and Fair Trade cotton. Dyes are safe and they steer clear of synthetics. If this is all sounding a bit dippy, hippy it's not - it makes great sense and the products are both relevant and stylish. Jewellery is produced in India and Kenya and is handmade by Fair Trade groups, often supporting disabled artisans.

Here's my pick for the season.

People Tree twisted copper bangle with bone bead charms, £25
People Tree Sausagedog jumper, £57
People Tree Eloise 100% cotton fleece dress, £65

I can see myself in all of these and I'll feel good wearing them for more than just the looking good!

Theory collaboration with Uniqlo

WOMEN Theory Down Jacket
Puffa jacket, designed by Theory, made by Uniqlo

Most of the high street has designer collaborations these days, and most you can leave. So often the designs are just poor versions of the catwalk - although I do like the way in which Debenhams collaborates with their Designers at Debenhams - there seems to be a bit more subtstance. But you won't see me queuing outside H&M anytime soon...

However I do like this Theory collaboration with Uniqlo - one of my high street staple favourites I must admit. I am sitting and typing this in Uniqlo jeans and t-shirt so I'm not lying.

Uniqlo are becoming famous for their real down puffa jackets and this women's Theory down jacket is just a little bit special with the zip up inner collar and black and white colourway. And at £89.90 for real and designer down it's not a bad price.

And if you like things a bit more colourful and for the tube rather than the piste, here is another Uniqlo down jacket for exactly the same price.

These boots were made for walking

Did anyone see the fantastic Last Tango in Halifax last night? Full to the brim with stars, and a long-awaited return to the small screen by Derek Jacobi, this story of old-age love is definitely one not to miss.... But do you know who the real star of the show is for me? The wonderful countryside of West Yorkshire.

Now I know it's not the Yorkshire Dales, or the North York Moors, but there is something very special about the small villages and rolling hills of West Yorkshire.

Which turns my mind to walking and getting out in the fresh air before Winter really does bite hard. I am not a hardy walker but really prefer a gentle stroll but I am sure this is down to the fact that I don't really have the proper footwear. FitFlop boots are what I usually wear but really to stride out for a day's walking in the British countryside you need something much sturdier. So this year I am going to invest in some walking boots at Blacks. And while I'm at it I will be getting a pair for my husband too so we can walk together....
I really like this colourway by Berghaus for women at £110

T-bar shoes are back for Autumn/Winter

T-bar's and Mary-Jane's are back, whatever your preference,  and it's a relief for those of us who cannot or simply will not squeeze ourselves into towering ankle breakers. They are neat, look great with trousers and skirts of all lengths and will allow you to keep on your feet for hours. I particularly like patents and have my eye on a cheeky little pair from (believe it or not) Clarks. Here's a selection of my favourites...

Now of course having said I wouldn't be wearing towering heels I really couldn't resist showing you this pair as they are great value and there is, at least, a platform which should help a bit!

Top Shop range that is Unique

Top Shop Unique, if you haven't come across it yet, is a collection of pieces designed specifically for Top Shop and always causes quite a stir on the catwalks each season. This Autumn/Winter things went quite sophisticated which means that it can be worn by any age group really, which is always a bonus to my mind.

Fabrics are leather and wool and shapes have an almost military feel - just right now the weather is on the turn and we all look to wrap up. Colours follow the theme of so many designers this season and include rich berry's and deep khaki and you know that they really won't be either dating you or your wardrobe anytime soon.

Everything is slightly overlarge which makes it perfect for covering a multitude of sins. Here are a few of my favourites.
Dog-tooth check jacket by Unique, £130

Army Cardigan by Unique, £95
Padded toe cap boot by Unique, £120

Dog-tooth check trousers by Unique, £120
Khaki leather rucksack by Unique, £400
