Stop Press - Vivienne Westwood Anglomania Sale at Cocosa

Don't know if it's because I'm mentally preparing for the Edinburgh Fringe in a couple of weeks but the tartan dress by Vivienne Westwood  reduced at Cocosa really caught my eye. And I quite like the drama of the stripy number too - both perfect for your Autumn/Winter wardrobe.

You can go punk this Autumn and save a few bob so resistance is useless really...

Vivienne Westwood Anglomania at Cocosa.com – Rectangle Dress – was £440, now £219

Vivienne Westwood Anglomania at Cocosa.com – Toga Drape Dress – was £325, now £159

Check out Cocosa for up to 70% off main name designer collections. Vivienne Westwood item sale goes live in the Autumn.

Sale Shopping Winter 2012 - a few new bargains

Anything less than 50% off is not really a sale as far as I'm concerned. 10%, 25% anything like this just doesn't do it for me so I am left to wait until the final days of the sale before I leap in for the bargains.

Of course this does mean that often I am just too late and anything I would have wanted has gone, or is available in just a size 6. But this year my luck was definitely in and I managed a few bargains which I will be wearing with pleasure.

Now my mission was to go out and buy a dress and a pair of shoes. Somehow I managed to come back with three dresses (two of which are virtually the same in colour if not in cut) and two pairs of shoes (which are completely different).

But all of them were half price so I am certainly not complaining... and here they are. Apologies for the poor quality photography - time was not on my side today and I wanted to get the post up before any talk of sales was redundant!
First half-price bargain from Monsoon
And I couldn't really resist it's almost twin for the same bargain price...
And I am a little in love with this glorious, green chiffon dress from Ghost at John Lewis. I haven't worn Ghost since  the eighties but have always loved the brand. Why it's taken so long to revisit it I will never know...

And now for the shoes. First up a pair from John Lewis own label - they look really cute on and great with trousers but the sturdy heel means you can wear them all day.

And the finale - I fell in love with these in the Kurt Geiger Sale then found they did them in red in Top Shop and a beautiful ecru in John Lewis. Black is fine and my bank account is happy I didn't get the other colours too!

Things that made me happy this week....

Thought I'd share the happiness of my week with everyone... just because I can.

My baby finally left school this week - A levels over, book return day came and the locker which had been her's for 7 years was finally cleared. I remember that wonderful feeling of excitement and relief so well - and I also remember that I didn't once feel any sense of closure that brought sadness. I can see this in her too, so I am feeling wistful on her behalf. Here she is with her friend Charlie and this pic really captures a moment of pure joy - she'll kill me if she sees I've posted this but hey - it's my blog!

What else has made me happy?
The Sales Are On!
Shoes
And although I haven't got a huge amount of disposable at the moment - or if I'm honest a very great need to shop, I can't resist a bargain! There really are some bargains out there and I would suggest a trip or online visit to River Island which only started yesterday and has a huge amount on sale, Banana Republic also has some fantastic dresses and summer tops are truly knock-down prices and Top Shop is always worth a rummage.

We have wonderful interns who come from an American College and love us so much they buy us cakes when they leave...
Here was our cake gift this week from Lola's Cupcakes which taste as good as they look...

Just to enhance the impression that I'm completely obsessed with food I also had a fab night this week with some of our bloggers at a Handpicked meet-up in a relatively new eaterie in the Carnaby Street area - Flat Planet. If you're ever passing and want a fresh and delicious lunchtime treat then check them out. Their speciality is flatbreads with a wide range of toppings all baked in front of your eyes. It's always lovely to meet bloggers - we are lucky that they are such a great group of lively and entertaining people.
