Galloping Horses designs make an impact at French Connection

I love this collection from High Street label French Connection as you can take as little or as much of it as you want and it will still have impact. Monochrome (all pieces are black/white/grey) and stylish this is fashion for little girls who loved My Little Pony (and those who didn't). The textile designs are really well drawn and I completely fell in love with the embroidered pieces. On sale on the French Connection site now I will soon be seen sporting the sheer shirt and the shopper which will easily take me through to Autumn/Winter.

Marks and Spencer fashion - out of the doldrums?

Marks and Spencer's fashion collections have left a lot to be desired over the past few seasons. There has been little that I would buy (apart from one plain black shift dress that was bought for me) as everything has been rather dull and shapeless. There is now a new style director Belinda Earl who was responsible for introducing the fabulous Designers at Debenhams range. By the looks of the Autumn/Winter collection she is already making her mark. According to The Daily Telegraph website Belinda says: "We've listened to so much customer feedback and the number one complaint has been quality." So it appears she has addressed that along with all the other complaints about cut, colour and suitability for women who would shop in M&S if they could find anything that didn't make them feel, well, middle-aged. I like what I see and am lucky that I work near the West End as I know I will find things in store. The next battle they need to address is availability in towns up and down the country - so if you can't find what you want you should complain to head office, Belinda is listening.

Spring/Summer at Uniqlo

There are some great collaborations in store and online at Uniqlo at the moment so I felt compelled to share.

The Cabbages & Roses floral print collection has more than just a touch of vintage too it but is wearable whatever your age or shape.

Celia Birtwell has put her name and her pattern book to lots of ranges recently and her is her latest. I have a pair of fantastic cropped trousers with a more monochrome print waiting for some good weather, but how can you resist these fabulous colours?

And last but by no means least, Lulu Guinness has produced a range of simple yet stylish t-shirts to team with black cut-offs or wide skirts.

         

In my experience Uniqlo clothing is great value for money but also wears pretty well for the prices and wash a treat!

Mid-season Sweater from Top Shop

I am still freakin' cold and getting fed up with looking at hosts of pretty, flimsy, light Spring fashion that I just won't be buying yet! So I went on the hunt for a great S/S sweater that I will probably end up wearing all year at this rate. I love this one from Top Shop - reminds me of one my husband wore in the '80's in terms of the pattern. His didn't have the fantastic two-tone sleeves and was in wool - and I'm sure his was from a second-hand shop so was probably a '70's one in actual fact.
