Rigby & Peller still do make beautiful bras that make you look as good as they feel, but due to time and the fact that my office is around the corner from Bravissimo (and like most, my bank balance is not as healthy as I would like these days) I decided to give a cheaper alternative a go.
Bravissimo make and supply bras and lingerie (and a clothing range) in sizes D-KK. They also do supportive nightwear, swimwear, strappy tops - they've pretty much covered everything that us more generously endowed women find frustrating in terms of getting the fit and support right. Their bra and knicker sets are pretty and well-made and a fraction of the cost of the more expensive lines in Rigby & Peller.
I did visit one very busy lunchtime which I think was a mistake but the staff were friendly and fetched and served me with a wide selection without a sigh or any sign of annoyance. Okay the experience is not exactly the same as a fitting at Rigby & Pellar, the fitting rooms are a bit more of a conveyor-belt and less luxurious but at these prices you really can't complain.
Here are a few of my favourites from the website...
Alana bra £26 and briefs - I've got this one in a mocha brown and it's a superb fit.
Demi Diva bra £30
Trudi Bra £29
Aside from lovely bra and brief sets the fashion collection provides you with a few basics that come in super-curvy, really curvy and curvy for the various cup sizes - so no more gaping blouses which fit everywhere but across your boobs. The range is called Pepperberry (really haven't a clue why) and there is a comprehensive size guide so you know which one would suit your shape best. Don't expect high fashion, do expect a good selection of basics that will fit and flatter and enhance your wardrobe. A shops worth a visit but in the meantime browse their website and you'll see why I'm a new fan.
