Skin as old as mine needs a pick me up - and anything that makes mine brighter is a godsend. But I am not a natural foundation wearer and tend to go for powders or tinted moisturisers if I have a choice. Most foundations that claim to reflect back light and provide a more 'youthful' (yeh right) complexion tend to be too heavy for me. Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation however is neither heavy or clogging yet had enough formula to cover the few enlarged pores and blemishes that I am blighted with.
It's not sparkly either (I really don't like sparkly foundation) but does seem to give my skin a bit of luminosity and covers really well. The shade I chose as it is winter and I am at my palest was Soft Beige which was a bit more of a biscuit shade than Ivory. There are six shades in the range so there should be something to suit everyone. It also stayed in place all day - I applied it first thing in the morning and was still there and looking good when I came to do a more night-time look.
This foundation is a really good price at just £8.99 - it behaves more like a foundation for twice that price. Keep an eye out in all the usual Rimmel London stockist places like Boots, I plan to use it until I can opt for a more convincing sun-kissed look once we are out of this never-ending winter.
