Ewe boots - perfect for winter |
Yes more sheepskin lined wellies and with our winter's you really can't do without and this time they are British!
Karen Easter designed the fabulous EWE boot. After being inspired by Dragons' Den and the freezing British winters of 2010 and 2011, she decided to create a wellington boot that keeps the feet warm and snug in the winter and cool and airy in the summer while being uber stylish. Karen chose sheepskin from the famous Australian Merino breed of sheep noted for its fineness and warmth and natural rubber for the boot itself.
In 2011 Karen decided to sell on the EWE Style brand to dedicate more of her time to her growing family. The EWE brand is now owned by Tomás Lynch and Ian Bowers who are equally committed to making this a fantastic brand and boot.
Here is why I think this boot is so fab!
Natural sheepskin has cooling properties in the summer whilst providing effective warmth in temperatures as low as -25 degrees.
■ The thick pile Merino fleece gives constant air circulation around your feet and legs; this circulating air is extremely effective at removing odour and moisture build up. No synthetic material available has matched even a fraction of the ability of Merino wool to remove moisture and odour.
■ Removable inner soles, essential for airing the boots.
■ The natural rubber construction of these wellies will warm with your body heat ensuring flexible movement and a natural fit.
■ The thick rubber sole has a built in foil layer to help protect against the cold. The super soft Merino wool lining is cool in the summer, and warm in the winter.
■ Merino sheep are farmed for their wool and not eaten for meat, ensuring they are well looked after and making this an ethical choice of material for our wellies.
Ewe boots are £160 so are cheaper than a lot of competitors. They also have a range of complementary pashminas and sheepskin shoppers which go perfectly with your Ewe boot.
