My baby finally left school this week - A levels over, book return day came and the locker which had been her's for 7 years was finally cleared. I remember that wonderful feeling of excitement and relief so well - and I also remember that I didn't once feel any sense of closure that brought sadness. I can see this in her too, so I am feeling wistful on her behalf. Here she is with her friend Charlie and this pic really captures a moment of pure joy - she'll kill me if she sees I've posted this but hey - it's my blog!
What else has made me happy?
The Sales Are On!
And although I haven't got a huge amount of disposable at the moment - or if I'm honest a very great need to shop, I can't resist a bargain! There really are some bargains out there and I would suggest a trip or online visit to River Island which only started yesterday and has a huge amount on sale, Banana Republic also has some fantastic dresses and summer tops are truly knock-down prices and Top Shop is always worth a rummage.
We have wonderful interns who come from an American College and love us so much they buy us cakes when they leave...
Here was our cake gift this week from Lola's Cupcakes which taste as good as they look...
Just to enhance the impression that I'm completely obsessed with food I also had a fab night this week with some of our bloggers at a Handpicked meet-up in a relatively new eaterie in the Carnaby Street area - Flat Planet. If you're ever passing and want a fresh and delicious lunchtime treat then check them out. Their speciality is flatbreads with a wide range of toppings all baked in front of your eyes. It's always lovely to meet bloggers - we are lucky that they are such a great group of lively and entertaining people.
